This readme.txt file for the Nios II Development Kit software
includes information on important features.
The Nios II Development Kit:
o Allows hardware engineers to develop Nios II processor
hardware systems targeting Stratix(R), Cyclone(TM) and
Stratix II devices using the Quartus II
and SOPC Builder development environments.
o Allows software engineers to develop and debug C/C++
and assembly-language programs using the Nios II
integrated development environment (IDE).
NOTE: MAX+plus II development environment does not support the
Nios II processor.
The Nios II Development Kit is a package of software that
includes several development tools and IP cores.
o The Nios II IDE is based on the open-source Eclipse IDE

Example Design Notes
If you are running an example design and you are asked for
you 9-digit number after the letters 'ASJ', and your Nios II
Development Board does not have a sticker with a 9-digit
number after the letters 'ASJ', please enter a unique
9-digit number when prompted. Ensure that
this number is unique to each Nios board connected to your
network to avoid network address conflicts.
Telnet Software Example:
In order to successfully run the telnet example, you must
perform the following telnet command after obtaining an IP
address.
